We never use stickers, glue, baked on marking pens or sublimation in order to personalize our products. We personalize our pieces with genuine ceramic glaze transfers that are fired to 1,550° F or higher and permanently fused to the surface of the glaze. Our decorations will never chip, scratch, fade or abrade. We back every piece with our unique half price remake guarantee.
Stickers:
Self adhesive stickers made form various clear plastic materials will look good when you open the box. However, they will not withstand the dishwasher, microwave, conventional oven or freezer. Everything that we produce is engineered to withstand the rigors of the typical American kitchen.
Glued on decorations:
Most glazed ceramic surfaces are nearly impossible to permanently affix anything with glue. Even today’s most advanced adhesives with not withstand use in the kitchen for very long. Additionally many of the strongest adhesives are not food safe. You should never purchase a piece of pottery or glass with glued components that you intend to use.
Baked on Marking Pens:
So called “Permanent Markers” that cure at room temperature or bake in your oven at 300° F are not everlasting. Repeated washings in your dishwasher, cooking in your conventional oven or exposure to the rays in a microwave oven will quickly degrade the personalization and intimately cause it to fail. Our decoration and personalization are fired to a high temperature where the glaze becomes molten and the ceramics glaze transfer is fused to the surface. Our pottery is produced and decorated using the very same ceramic techniques that are incorporated buy the world’s most recognized fine dinnerware producers. It will never chip, scratch, fade or abrade with normal use in a kitchen.
Sublimation:
Sublimation is a process where a piece of special paper is affixed to the flat surface of a plate, tile or the side of a cylindrical mug. Compound curves on ceramic or glass items can not be sublimated. The paper and the ceramic article are then placed in a heated press with a sheet of a special plastic. The plastic melts to cover the paper. Sublimators frequently make the claim that the process is dishwasher safe but it is not. After 50 cycles most sublimated products have long since failed. The sublimation process will create a lovely decoration on a piece but never expose it to direct sunlight, weather, freezer, oven, dishwasher or the microwave.
